DATE: Thursday, April 28, 2022, 1 to 3 pm

WHO: The very entertaining designer Madeline Stuart

WHAT: Madeline's talks are witty, educational, inspirational and from the heart. As she explains, "Too many designers are caught in a Pinterest rut. As a result, interiors are reflecting a sameness — relying on similar details, similar color schemes. Looking back at interiors and interior designers of the past can be far more inspirational than scrolling through Instagram."

STREET CRED: Madeline is known her her LA/Hollwood design work but has projects around the world. She is known for her timeless design and layered interiors woven into the meticulous reversals of neglect and damage to properties originally built by Cedric Gibbons, John Woolf, Sylvanus Marston, Paul Williams and Gerald Colcord. She has designed homes for Larry David, Lindsey Buckingham, Jason Alexander, Jason Siegel, Nora Ephron, and many not so famous.

TXDW Sponsors: Elegant Additions, New Orleans Auction Galleries, Monogram Luxury Appliances, Decorative Center Houston

"Which brings us to the subject of her extraordinary candor. Madeline is a Savonarola of style, a latter-day prophet, a magnificent messianic figure, inveighing against the hypocrisies of our time (to borrow a phrase from Paddy Chayefsky). In the decorator demimonde of air kisses and other artificial niceties, Madeline calls it like she sees it, ever steadfast in her belief that style untethered to substance is meaningless." — Mayer Rus
